St. James April the 24 dear William . you may easily imagine how much I was rejoyced at the news of yr victory, knowing the share I take in every thing that concerns yr honour and the advantage of this Country. I am extremely pleased with the countenance, and behaviour of the Troops, I hope you will let them know it, and as I always was their supporter, they may now still more, they have shewed their Courage as well as their zeal and affection, depend upon all accations upon my protection.
