I do not take the liberty to recapitulate the reasons which induced me to leave Hampton Court so suddenly, but I flatter myself your Majesty will more easily grant me that pardon which I ask, when you reflect on the Condition in which I found myself with the poor Princess, at a time, when it was not fit for me to delay a moment.
