1024. Great disputes arose on the death of Henry 2d/. but at length Conrad the Salie Duke of Franconia was Elected. Like his predecessors he had to oppose revolts in Germany & Italy. In 1034. he inherited Iransjurane Burgundy of Rodolph the last King; the small in extent, it was important, and included the Scignorial superiority over the Swiss, the Grisons, Provence, & other Provinces. He was esteemed a just, a generous, & magnanimous Prince. He caused his son Henry to be Elected his Successor & died in 1039
