919. Henry Duke of Saxony-- (surnamed the Fowler) was Elected with the Unanimous consent of the assembled States; & was the ablest Statesman, & greatest Prince of Europe in his time. He created Marquisses to defend the frontiers, & fortified the principal towns in the Empire. He defeated the Hungarians, & rescued his Country from the tribute they had obliged his predecessor to pay them. He died as he was marching to the conquest of Italy in. 936
