A Copy of the late Captain William Augustus Merrick's Will} [[underline]] I William Augustus Merrick. [[/underline]] Captain in the Royal Navy being on the point of leaving England, & apprehensive of the uncertaintys of this Life, do make [[underline]] This [[/underline]] my last Will and Testament in manner following - I give and bequeath to [[underline]] Elizabeth Jane Grant [[/underline]] daughter of [[underline]] Captain William Grant [[/underline]], of the Royal Artillery; all my Property whatsoever, Consisting of money in the Public Funds, money in the Hands of Messrs [[underline]] Hoare &c. [[/underline]] Bankers in Fleet Street, money in the hands of my Agents Messrs: [[underline]] Ommanney & Page [[/underline]] in America Square, belonging to me, together with all Pay, or sums of money whatever due to me at the time of my Decease and lastly one Case or Box of Plate belonging to me, and left in the care of the abovementioned Messrs - Ommanney & Page - I entreat [[underline]] Elizabeth Jane Grant [[/underline]] to regard the above bequest, as a proof of the sense I entertain of her affectionate Sentiments towards me, and as the only return, Fortune has enabled me to give her - I give to my worthy Friend [[underline]] General Budé [[/underline]] my Gold Watch and Chain given to me by the [[underline]] Duke of York [[/underline]] - I give to Major [[underline]] Andrew Frazer [[/underline]] of the Corps of Engineers, my Ring containing a bust of the [[underline]] Prince of Wales [[/underline]] set in Diamonds, my Case of Achromatic Glasses, and all my Mathematical Instruments, in trust for his son [[underline]] Simon Augustus Frazer [[/underline]] to whom I bequeath them, as likewise my Time keeper /77/ made by Arnold and now in Arnold's care
