30th of Jany 1804 Sir I have this instant your letter: it does not become me, to [[underline]] name [[/underline]] the Security; it depends on your ideas I should suppose my promissory note as good as any thing [[underline]] and least expence [[/underline]]. If you will fill up one in a proper [[addition]] stamp [[/addition]] or authorize one so to do, I will forward it to you without loss of time - payable on [[underline]] demand [[/underline]] or at a given [[underline]] time [[/underline] you will say. I make the debt 78 £. If I am not correct pray rectify it. I am sorry you still blame me for what I cannot help. I am more to be pitied. Than blamed.
