Formidable April 17th. 1782 My dear Sir I should be glad, you with your Squadron, would go as far a head as Hull down, and keep so, till we gett as far as Alcavala: We shall steer Wt. [[unclear]] So. till we gett to that place, which is about Mid=way of St Domingo on the South side and am sure we shall overtake the Royal Oak &c &c &c but if you think otherwise which I submit to your better judgement, please to make sail till you gett a breast of Alcavala and there wait till we join — The sooner we proceed the better— Believe me to be with regard & real Truth my dear Sir Yours &c &c &c GB Rodney Copy Sam: Hood Sir Samuel Hood Barf.
