Situation drove against His rival whom he perceived at no great Distance in order to come to a Single Combat, which His Antagonist did not decline but Sr William Stanley broke in with His Troops Surrounded Richard who Fighting bravely to the last Moment, was overwhelmed by the Number of his Ennemies & perished. On the Kgs Side the Duke of Norfolk the Lrd Farrars of Chartley, Sr Richard Ratcliff, Sr Robert Piercey & Sr Robert Brakenburg were killed. The loss was inconsiderable on the Side of the Victors. Sr William Cartesby great instrument of Richards Crimes was taken & beheaded at Leicester.
