the Queen to the Prince of Wales 7. Jany 1799. I must follow the Dictates of my heart my dearest Son by Congratulating You upon the return of this Day, I have not the Salent of a Sevigni else I would make a Sonnet for the 7th but what I wont on Elegance I hope to make up in attachment & Truth, & wish most Sincerely that little Charlotte may become besides [[unclear]] Elegance & Beauty. both good & Virtuous by which She must become a Comfort to You, a Blefsing to those around Her, & an Ornament to Her Sex. & lastly may She prove to You as affectionate as You are to me which is the Earnest wish of My dearest Son Yr very affectionate Mother & Sincere Friend.
