Description
Enquires after Lady Charlotte's health '& how she has borne the dreadful alarm, as well as removal of the last night'; enquires after Mrs Feilding's family; explains reasons for not writing sooner; encloses a gift: 'though perhaps she may not be advised to try the Pills, still, I can not help flattering myself, that the Sight of the Box may now & then recall to her recollection the Donor, who I entreat of You, to assure her, for now six & fourty Years, never has ceased, or for the rest of his Life, never can nor will cease to love her from the very bottom of his Heart' Signed and dated at Carlton House half past 2pm With seal Envelope signed with intials 'G. P.' and addressed to St James's Palace and in a different hand written: 'from H. R. H. the Prince of Wales - after the Fire at St James's Palace. Jan 17 1809'
