Apologises for not writing sooner; expresses desire to visit England to improve his writing and to visit Lady Charlotte and family ('Your Lady may or will believe I hope that the plaesure to pay my duties to You and Your amiable Family, is a real one to, no body in the world I am sure has more esteem for You than I have.'); appreciates her happiness as a grandmother, his wishes for her long life, 'and that every Prosperity may attend Your worthy Family'; asks her to pass on his compliments to her daughters and his gratefulness at being remembered by them. 'excusez ce griffonage et ne le montrez a personne' written at the bottom of the page Signed and dated at Strelitz With envelope marked 'at Kew' and 'Recd St James's Sept 14th 1773'
