My Dear William, the Quarterly Messenger has delivered Your letter of the 10th. mentioning the rejoicings of the Town of Hannover on the return of Frederick, which doubly pleases me as it gives a strong mark of the Affection for Me and Family and a consciousness of the propriety of his conduct by which He has acquired the esteem of my very faithful [[underline]] German [[/underline]] Subjects. I am happy to find You are sensible of my care to put You in a way to be of credit to Yourself and family and of utility if You make the proper use of it to Your Country; to be fit to restore discipline in that hereafter which at present is undoubtedly lost in our Service You must get a command of Yourself; You have the best means of doing that therefore on Yourself alone the blame as well as disadvantage will fall if You do not turn out Agreeable to my most sanguine wishes. believe me ever My Dear William Your most Affectionate Father Georg R.
