Title

Letter from William, Duke of Clarence to Capt. Duncombe Pleydell Bouverie, written at Bushy House

Date Created

20 April 1830

Creator

Clarence and St Andrews, William, Duke of

Description

Acknowledging the receipt of Duncombe's letter and its content. William heard that the Russians have been stopped; Captain E. Lyons reports of the bad conditions of the Russian ships at Odessa. He is sure, however, that Duncombe should be pleased to have been in command of the HMS Windsor Castle in the Mediterranean for so long; William thinks it appropriate that he should stay there a little longer because of the likehood of a French attack on Algiers.
