William informs Lord Mayo of the sad news that the Duchess [Adelaide] had a miscarriage, despite all precautions having been taken by William and Halliday [Sir Andrew Halliday] - she was in her tenth week of pregnancy. They will stay at Lord [Robert Stewart] Castlereagh's apartments in Dover Castle until the Duchess feels well enough to travel back to England.
