Title

Letter from the Duke of Clarence to J.W. Daniell, written at Hanover

Date Created

10 February 1819

Creator

Clarence and St Andrews, William, Duke of

Description

William is sending, with this letter, a package containing linen, and he waits for Mrs Oak to send a final list of how much more is needed. He is happy with the new gardener and with the list of seeds. He is worried about the glanders [infectious disease that occurs primarily in horses, but can be contracted by humans as well]. He is satisfied with Coates' account on the changing of the land in grass - but still doubts whether it would be better to keep some land arable as well; he wants Coates' straight opinion on that.
