Description
William communicates to Hawker that Windham [William Wyndham Grenville, 1st Baron Grenville] has disbanded the Infantry. He believes that the abolition of the slave trade taken by Lord Grenville [William Wyndham Grenville, 1st Baron Grenville] weakens the maritime strength of the country which is now subject to invasion. About the war in Europe: he thinks the French will be beaten by the Russians as Napoleon has been engaging too much with politics rather than focusing on military affairs.
Mrs Jordan sends her best; the children [William and Mrs Jordan's] all had chickenpox but they are recovering.
