Harvey and Lord Charles Fitzgerald, Hood's disappointment at not having the confidence of Sir George Rodney and his opinion of him, his actions with regard to possible enemy attacks on Tobago and Martinique (with a hurried postscript reporting that an enemy force was off Tobago, and that he was 'going to Seek the Enemy'), and interaction with Gen.Vaughan over a possible expedition to Curracoe.

I afterwards found the Monarch and Belliqueux, with two frigates were ordered to Tobago, I thought the force inadequate to the Service, and that it was Subjecting His Majesty's Ships to be disabled in the Detail. Luckily before they Sailed, the Cyclops frigate & Drake Sloop arrived, which had been sent, while we were between Antingua & Guadaloup, to this Island to prepare Provisions &ca.
