Copy of a letter from Rear-Adm. Thomas Graves to Read-Adm. Sir Samuel Hood, reporting that they had as yet no firm intelligence about De Grasse despite the suggestion that he was due to join the Spanish and arrive off the American coast, describing the action he was taking to bring Hood's squadron into safe anchorage and reporting news of the movements of American forces.
