Sir Samuel Hood to General Jacob de Budé basically repeating (almost verbatim) the contents of 0648, but with the addition of reporting the arrival of two more British ships and, in the postscript, that the British fleet was still at Sandy Hook 'to my unspeakable concern' but that he hoped it would be on its way to the Chesapeake the following day and thus able to offer relief to Lord Cornwallis.
