Lord Hood, conveying the King's instructions with regard to Prince William being placed under Hood's care and direction during the next campaign, outlining the rules that Digby established for the Prince, sending Capt. Napier as the Prince's companion, and referring to Mr Waddington and Mr Majendie in connection with the Prince's previous naval education; with two duplicates (one in a different hand).

your Lordship averse to his going, as Captn. Knight you say is a very able mathematician, I have only to desire Mr. Waddington may have some conversation with him that he may be informed of the method, that has been followed with His Royal Highness, as he would soon lose what he has learnt, if not attended to. Could you have had Mr. Majendie with you you would have found him a most valuable man and as he has a perfect knowledge of His Royal Highness I have directed him not only to wait upon you, to give you every information, but to put his thoughts upon paper, for your assistance, and as I am so perfectly satisfied they correspond exactly with mine, it remains only further to wish very sincerely your Lordship may find the same satisfaction, in fullfilling the great charge His Majesty has been pleased to intrust you with, that I have and to assure you that I am with great truth your Lordships faithfull humble Servant Robt.
