Intelligence [extracts of?] received from Connecticut and Boston on 12 and 19 October and 7 and 8 November concerning the location and supplies of, and repairs to, various French ships, and the likelihood of when and where they might sail, and also reporting the movements of French troops towards Boston.

New York November 12th 1782 Information received from Connecticut Portsmouth October 12th-- Was onboard a French 74 and Passed close by the other two French 74 Guns ships, namely the le Auguste and le Burgoyne, the last of which is equipt, the other two repairing as fast as possible: a new Main Mast making for one and almost ready. it was expected that the Pluton would soon sail for Boston Boston October 19th-- The French Admirals ship lays off the Long Wharf, has her Damages repaired, by putting a piece Sixteen feet long, in her keel, making a new Rudder &c &c Two ships of 74 Guns each in the Harbour; their Hulls nearly repaired, no Topmasts up or Yards aCross as Yet-- Three more ships of the Line between Nantasket, & the Town, their damages mostly &&& in their Hulls together with the loss of small spars-- [[catchword]] Three [[/catchword]]
