My Dear Son. She Demand of a Pocket Book & furnisheth me with an opportunity of stating You [[addition]] my [[/addition]] wishes concerning Your future Conduct in Life. Time draws near when You will be put into the Hands of Governors; under whose care You will study more manly learning than what You have done hitherto. My Advice will be short, but Sincere; & therefore I flatter myself not less serviceable to You. About all things i recommend Unto You, to fear God. a Duty which must lead to all the rest with ease; as his assistance being properly implored will be Your guide through every action of life. Abhor all vice, in private as well as in Publick. and look upon Yourself as obliged to set good examples. Disdain all flatery: it will corrupt Your manners, and render You Contemptible before the World. Do justice unto every Body, and avoid Partiality the first
