each in Our way endeavour to be usefull to that Society which cannot well be done without mixing in some degree with the World which may be done in my oppinion without going into the extremes of the present fashion where night is turned into Day & Day into Night where People go every where & enjoy Nothing & where Amusment is pursued but never found. My taste is for a few Select Friends whose cheerfullness of Temper & instructive Conversation will pass the Time away [[deletion]] in [[unclear]] [[/deletion]] without leaving any remorse for what is passd, & creating a desire of renewing the meeting, this I know is what you think my dear, but what I am sorry to Say we see but seldom, for now but those who are possessed of true Religious & Moral Principles can truly enjoy innocent Amusments. however this must not dash Us, We will see the follies of the Day, we will give them a Tear of Pity, & pursue
