the Queen to the Prince of Wales 24th. Septer 1796. My dearest Son. We are now very busy in settling Our Ball for the 29th & after due Consideration [[deletion]] [[unclear]] [[/deletion]] find it more Civil to invite the Princess of Wales upon the Occasion. I thought it right to inform You of it before She knows it, which shall not be till Monday as that will give Her time to prepare Her Dress. This is I hope a proof of my never taking any Step about what regards Your Family without informing You of it first. I hope it will prove [[addition]] a [[/addition]] Merry party as the Oranges will be here also & more Company than was originally intended Frogmore is still the place, as it will be less formal, & it must always be pleasant to me when I enjoy Yr Company. I will not detain You any longer by to assure You how [[unclear]] I am Your ever affectionate Mother & Friend. Charlotte the 29th Septbr 1796.
