How unfortunate the Day my dearest Son to be so Stormy & Rainy as to prevent my Young Visitor to enjoy a Ride of which She talked with so much Pleasure Yesterday Evening, it is the more Painfull to me as this Place will not afford for the Present any great variety of Amusements but You may rest assured that as far as lays in mine & Your Sisters Power we will use our best endeavours to make Charlotte's Visit as little Dull as Circumstances will admit of. I saw this Morning Drs Baillie Willis & Dundas, & had a long Conversation Separately with each. Every one of them was unanimous that the Present
