the Queen to the Prince Regent 21st. May 1812. My dearest Son. This Letter is to convey my thanks for the Beautifull Present I received by the Hands of the Duke of Cumberland on Tuesday last. Sorry I am that I can not have any distant Hope of Your seing Your beautifull gifts Shine at Dinner to Morrow at Frogmore where I had hoped to have the pleasure of Your Company yet I flatter myself that easier Times will soon procure me that Satisfaction. With infinite Concern do I see by to Days Papers that the Correspondence as well as the Conversation between Lrd Liverpool, Marquis of Wellesley & Mr Canning (not Cunning) is published, This is the first Time I ever remember such a Transaction being given out in the Public Prints, & I can not help reflecting with pleasure how well the dear King judged the Characters of those two Individuals, by proving themselves such as He always described them to me.
