My dearest Son. Words can not be found Strong enough to express that Happiness I feel to End this year as it was begun, with a Congratulating You upon the Signning of the Peace between this Country and America to which I may add [[addition]] that [[/addition]] of being [[underlined]] at Peace [[/underlined]] with all the World This has been an very Eventfull Year & the Stand of Providence has in this last unexpected Event proved particularly Gracious to this Country, as I am certain that it will be a means to Greatly to Facilitate many unpleasing attacks upon Government which it was impossible not to foresee and which would have created You much uneasiness and worry and every thing which lightens Your Burthen, will be most warmly [[unclear]] in by My dearest Son Your affectionnate Mother & Sincere Friend Charlotte [[note]] Windsor the 27th/ Decbr/ 1814.
