He entered France, His Steadiness & Fatherly Kindness at this trying moment. Should have secured Him at least in His Capital, & gained Him the Affection of His People _ but they are of a Judas race. too much accustomed to live upon Plunder & too light Headed to enjoy the Prospect of Domestic Happiness which was held out to them by the return of their Lawfull King. I cannot however quite give over the Game if the Allies will act but I do regret that this can not be done without Bloodshed.
