My dearest Son. I had the Pleasure of a Visit from Charlotte with the Happiest Face imaginable, caused by the reception of Your Letter which Anounced such agreable News to Her, which She brought Herself to Me by Your Orders, & for which I return You my most Sincere thanks. Much as this pleasing Intelligence delighted Your Daughter I must do her Justice by saying that She was not extravagantly overcome with Joy, but talked of the Event in a very quiet [[deletion]] but [[/deletion]] [[addition]] and [[/addition]] reasonable way looking forward to more real happiness in this expected Union than in the former choice She had made.. In my humble opinion I believe She truely means what She says
