Essay giving a brief history of Russia up to the period of Elizabeth, Empress of Russia (451 - 453) with a description of revenue and taxes including a break-down of taxes paid by peasants; with part draft essay on Russian history as above (455 - 450); notes on society, industry, and trade extracted from Charles, Baron Whitworth's "An account of Russia as it was in the year 1710"; and "Extract of the Manifesto in the names of the Empress of all the Russias, the King of Prussia, and the Empress Dowager Queen of Hungary etc. delivered at the Court of Warsaw in Septr 1772" (460).
